Maggie Douglas has dedicated 15 years to education, primarily working with 5th through 7th graders. During this time, she recognized the increasing need for a more individualized approach to support teens, parents, and educators. This realization fueled Maggie's passion for clinical counseling, leading her to pursue a degree in the field. Today, she leverages her expertise to help clients navigate both academic and personal challenges in various settings, including in-office, telehealth, and schools.
As a clinical counselor, Maggie is deeply committed to assisting individuals in understanding and managing the complexities of their emotional and psychological well-being. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, active listening, and a strong dedication to fostering personal growth and healing. Maggie provides a supportive, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing the tools necessary to lead more fulfilling lives.
Maggie's extensive experience in education also highlighted the critical need for supportive services for middle school-aged students, particularly those who identify as LGBTQ+. Driven by her passion for inclusion and diversity, Maggie ensures that vulnerable individuals are heard, seen, and respected for being their authentic selves.
With a diverse background in working with teens, adolescents, and adults, Maggie specializes in LGBTQ+ issues, supporting teachers in managing the stressors and secondary trauma they endure, as well as family and relationship dynamics, trauma, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, and stress management. She tailors her treatment to each person’s unique needs, guiding them on their path to healing and growth.
